KT320 Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge

Check wall thickness on a pipe, casting or fabricated part without cutting a sample. The portable KT320 works with ultrasonic-conductive materials including steel, cast iron, aluminum, copper, plastics, ceramics, glass and fiberglass. A backlit display, coupling indicator and onboard measurement memory make it practical for routine inspections on the shop floor or in the field.

Features that help at the workpiece

• Measure without cutting: ultrasonic thickness readings across a listed overall range of 0.75–300 mm, depending on the probe and material.
• Calibrate for the job: probe-zero and two-point calibration, plus sound-velocity measurement when thickness is known.
• Know when the probe is coupled: coupling-status alert helps identify a poor contact before recording a result.
• Keep and review results: memory for five files of 100 thickness values each, plus five sound-velocity values. Included PC software and USB cable allow review and printing of measurements on a computer.
• Carry it easily: LED backlight, battery indicator, automatic sleep and power-off in a 238 g instrument.

Standard package

The original listing states a two-year warranty. Couplant is marked as unsuitable for air transport in the source package list; its inclusion may therefore depend on shipping method.

Optional probes

• No2 casting probe: listed for steel and cast materials.
• No7 thin-workpiece probe: listed range 0.75–80 mm.
• HT5 / HT6 high-temperature probes: listed for up to 300°C / 400°C respectively, with a 3–200 mm stated range.

These specialty probes and high-temperature couplant are optional, not part of the standard package.
